What If Nebulae Were Visible From Earth? (Video)

Nearly 200 000 light-years from Earth, the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, floats in space, in a long and slow dance around our galaxy. As the Milky Way’s gravity gently tugs on its neighbour’s gas clouds, they collapse to form new stars. In turn, these light up the gas clouds in a kaleidoscope of colors, visible in this image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. Image via ESA/NASA/Hubble

The young star cluster NGC 602 in the Small Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy to the Milky Way. This picture covers a region about 200 light years across, and the galaxies seen in the background are hundreds of millions of miles further from us.

Chandra (X-Ray Observatory) shares her view …and the emotions it evokes… of what I imagine it might fee like to look up from under the "Enfolding Protection of The Wing of An Angel." NASA - Stars in NGC
