~Beddgelert (named after Gelert, a loyal dog belonging to the 13th century Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great) is a popular stop for those visiting Snowdonia national park in North Wales. Two rivers run down from the hills of Snowdonia into Beddgelert & meet near a pretty stone bridge in the centre of the village. The area has a rich mining heritage.
