To quote "One of my favorite places I traveled to in my late 20's was to a small castle ruin in Wales, [EDIT next door to England]. It was a quiet place & I got headphones with narration to walk thru while listening to stories of the battles, day-day lives of the great old warriors of Wales. Great memory!"
~Beddgelert (named after Gelert, a loyal dog belonging to the 13th century Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great) is a popular stop for those visiting Snowdonia national park in North Wales. Two rivers run down from the hills of Snowdonia into Beddgelert & meet near a pretty stone bridge in the centre of the village. The area has a rich mining heritage. The village is also the setting for the Rupert the Bear adventures, having been home to Rupert's illustrator Alfred E Bestall~
