Little Spines is a yearly publication containing stories and poems from the Creative Writing students from RMIT. My aim was to create a contemporary, stylish publication on a low budget. The style of binding I used (Japanese Stab binding) has an abstract resemblance to an actual human spine visually, and also shares many of its characteristics; being quite ornate and fragile, yet extremely crucial, and vigilantly holds everything together.

Beautiful book design.

Chinese notebook can use a bit of sprucing up. Maybe a clean paper bag and a printer can do just the trick.

The whole project started from basic -design, print, bind, mount, fold & tear! All manual work. The title - The New Hope was printed on the neon color paper. Kraft paper wrapped over it with manually tear out revealing the title.

I love the idea of using transparent papers for WR. We already use overlays with the diagonals. I think it's such a nice touch of elegance and it's a way for us to overlay "true." over a photo without legibility issues.
