Holiday Baby Wearing
Are you a new mom wondering how to get EVERYTHING done for the holidays with your baby in tow? Make it stress-free by using the Lascal M1 carrier + wear your baby while you... 🎁 Wrap presents 🛍️ Go shopping 🎄Hang-up ornaments 🤶 Fill up stockings 🍸Or when you make yourself a much needed festive cocktail You may be taking care of your baby, but that doesn’t mean you can’t also take care of yourself this season! Enjoy multi-tasking with your M1 carrier!
Sensory Play + Tummy Time
I use the @BabyJackCo city + state sensory toys for daily tummy time activities. This provides baby with visual stimulation (with all the colors), tactile stimulation (with the textures of the sensory tags) + auditory stimulation (with the crinkle paper sound)! Talk to your baby during tummy time + teach them about popular landmarks. These recognizable buildings, monuments + animals will shape their childhood. Go see if your state or city made the cut! Safety + Baby Play Areas
I love the @QdosSafety StayPut® Outlet Plugs because this one plug covers BOTH outlets! And they have an extra tight fit and beveled edges that prevent small fingers from grasping and removing them. They can prevent electric shock and burns - because they prevent children from placing objects in it! They fit on all outlets, come in a 6 pack, and have a clean, white design that blends with the outlet cover to go unnoticed by children.
Materials: ▪️ Red🔴 & blue🔵 colored gelatin ▪️ Yogurt ▪️ Mini Mat ▪️ Mini Straw (Mini Cup + Straw Training System is the cup I designed!) I hope you have fun this holiday with your kids! Let me know if you try this sensory play activity! SAVE it for later (for another holiday, perhaps) and TAG a mama who could use an easy edible activity in their life! #MsDawnSLP
Coconut Sensory Bin
To dye coconut, you need the following: ▪️ Bag of flaked coconut ▪️ Zip-top bags ▪️ Gel food coloring (you can use regular food coloring too). ▪️ Cookie sheet DIRECTIONS 1️⃣ Add about 5 drops of gel food coloring into a zip-top bag 2️⃣ Add 1/3 cup of coconut 3️⃣ Add 1/4 tsp of water 4️⃣ Blend together with your hands (outside of the bag). 5️⃣ Place it onto a lined cookie sheet and let it dry for about 2 hours. 6️⃣ Add the coconut to your edible sensory bin.
Temperature Sensory Bottle
Making sensory bottles for your baby or toddler doesn't have to be complicated... all you need to do is fill one halfway with ice and top with cold water, then fill the other with warm tap water. That's it! Well, make sure to tighten the lids. Lol! Did you know that "temperature" is one of my "4-T tips" to starting solids? Exposing baby to a variety of temperatures at an early age can help decrease picky eating tendencies.
Oatmeal Sensory Bin!
I LOVE making sensory bins for babies & toddlers! DIRECTIONS Pour oatmeal into a tub and hide a toy or two in it. For babies, make sure half of the toy is visible so your babe can easily find it and pull it out. For toddlers, cover the entire toy and see if they can guess what the toy is by just feeling it. Have them try not to peek! You can find all of my favorite sensory toys and tools in my Amazon Store categorized by age groups. #SensoryPlay
Airplane Sensory Play!
Baby sensory play doesn't always have to include food, paint, or water. For example, if you have a 5-month-old, you can have them lie on your shins during play to help improve their head and neck strength gently. This is a fun activity to help get baby's head and neck ready for sitting in the high chair to eat. Head control is a major milestone, and by 6 months, most babies have gained enough strength in their neck and upper body to hold their head up to start solids safely.
Unicorn Sensory Play!
I love teaching parents how to work with their babies & toddlers on developmental skills. One of my favorite tips is to USE THEIR OBSESSIONS! I work with so many kiddos that are obsessed with unicorns. And I encourage parents to use whatever their child is enamored with to help establish a learning opportunity.
