As the children told me their ideas about light energy, I would write them on the Smartboard, but in two different columns. In one column we had sun, lightning, fire, lightning bugs, etc…and in the other column we had lightbulb, flashlight, glowstick, lantern, match, etc.
Phases of the Moon Activity for Guided Reading - Simply Skilled Teaching
Although the moon is a mysterious heavenly body, there’s a lot we know about it. Share the wonder with the kiddos in your classroom with an exciting lesson and Phases of the Moon activity. They’ll have a “blast” showing their knowledge of the moon and planets in a fun and interactive way! The moon is a long way away (238,855 miles, give or take a couple); however, these lessons will bring the topic down to earth so your little learners can add to their knowledge base!
Science Fun with interactive notebooks
Do you follow a specific curriculum for Science? Do you have a specific scope and sequence to follow? We use a science program called Science 21 in my district. It is a decent program, pretty hands on but everything is a worksheet. Worksheets definitely have a place in my classroom, but for science I like something a bit more interactive, which aligns with the lesson and/or experiment we are doing in class.
