Some artist decided to put together all of the things I love into one handmade book. Things like intricate patterns, cut paper, geometric shapes, Japanese stab binding and books with peekholes for grown-ups.
I'm loving the hexagonal design. Especially because it's layered, creating different image ideas with each overlap. layers - simple work, with a geometric shape removed in gradually smaller layers from an illustrated book.
✣ STATIONARY ✣ ILLUSTRATION ✣ This is great because the printed folded wrap can be done without a die-cut (just angle-cut the sides on a standard cutter). Die-cut anything is budget death. And it's a beautiful innovative design w/o being over the top.
Fox in the Snow - Jon Klassen This could be a NEAT winter art project inspiration! One option is to use tape to make the shape of the tree trunks--then paint the background. Finally, the tape can be removed and the trees painted.
