The most important Shinto shrine in the city of Kamakura, originally built in 1063. It is the center of much cultural activity and both Yabusame (archery from horseback) and kyūdō (Japanese archery) are practiced within the shrine. In The Amazing Race, S18 Roadblock: Dress in the traditional clothes of a samurai archer, perform the first two aspects of the ritual to the dojo master's satisfaction, mount a rotating wooden horse and hit a wooden target with an arrow.
