Benten-dō (曼殊院天満宮) in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City is one of the oldest shrines in Kyoto. I was there today and the autumn leaves still have some time to go.

Maple valley at Kasagi-dera (笠置寺) on Mt.Kasagi in Sōraku-gun, Kyoto-fu. Notting but red-brown maple leaves cover the ground, an amazing site, and was is even more amazing there is hardly anyone there.

It was a little disappointing because there was still quite a few green leaves and that vivid reddish brown wasn’t there. This is the Tenjin River (天神川) that flows through the maple garden.
