STPMJ completes rural cabin with a swivelled roof in South Korea
Wood glass concrete
First Place: Homes // Contemporary Architecture Under 4,000 Square Feet // Bureau for Architecture and Urbanism. An urban cottage in the woods, this beauty was built according to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. Note the five sides, raised on a concrete plinth. Called a “matchbox” style, the home’s concept is that of an external sleeve with four inner quadrants (tongue-and-groove cedar). It has four bedrooms but is only 1,740 square feet.
