Sold for $ 14,100        IMPORTANT ROOSTER WEATHERVANE.  Quebec, mid 19th century, tin. Folksy vane with stylized details and an old, painted surface. Mounted on a base. Ex Ralph and Patricia Price (Ontario).    Illustrated in McKendry, Folk Art, p. 138. 31"h. (a copy of which accompanies the lot, along with an exhibition poster featuring this weathervane).      There are two splits in the tail and a rusted hole by the front of one wing.
