This little box nicely represents the favored designs from the period of Napoleon III (1851-1870). The ebony inset with gilded metal designs in the forms of neoclassic ladies, cherubs, cornucopia and arabesques bespeaks the opulence and elegance preferred by the Parisian wealthy and nobility. The box comes from Paris and dates from 1860-1870.

Early 15th century sapphire and enamel ring, engraved with en boen an (en bon an), new year's gift, France, sapphire, high carat gold, white enamel, 0.7cm. The diffusion of character was low and the written language and the spoken language don't agree at that time. As a result, it was frequently to make such spelling mistake.
An antique Napoleon III ring, mid-19th century. Composed of gold, silver, enamel and diamonds, the oval enamelled plaque with the letter N surmounted by a crown, set with rose-cut diamonds. Rings of this kind were given by the Emperor in thanks for services rendered. #Napoleonic #antique #ring
