Urlich Graf (1878-1950) was one of the earliest Nazis and Hitler's personal bodyguard from 1920 to 1925. During the abortive Beer Hall putsch in 1923, Graf saved Hitler's life when he threw himself in front of the the Leader and took a bullet aimed at Hitler. On 20 April 1943, Hitler's birthday, he became an SS Brigadeführer. After the war he was sentenced to 5 year's hard labor but died soon after of natural causes.
