Nyala (Tragelaphus angasii) inhabits dense low woodlands and thickets near permanent water. Nyalas are found in a number of game reserves and private farms throughout South Africa. They are most numerous in the Kruger National Park and are introduced to Botswana. Only the males have horns and  have a ridge of long hairs from behind the chin to between the hind legs.The the juvenile males look like females.They are the same family as kudu and eland. When searching for a kudu trophy look for size and mass of horns, the longer and thicker the curled horns the older and healthier the animal

GREATER KUDU: has a wide range of habitat, but human encroachment, loss of habitat, and hunting for its horns and meat has begun to diminish kudu numbers. Greater kudu are one of the tallest species of antelope, with adults standing at at the shoulder.

Nyalas are graceful leapers capable of clearing a m fence from a standstill. They are a savanna woodland species, and do not occur in open grassland, forest or desert and eat a greater variety than any of the other antelope in the southern African region.
