ST. ARNOLD SANTO is a black Kölsch, which technically doesn’t exist as a style, but this is as close as we can come to describing it. Essentially it is brewed using a Kölsch recipe with the addition of Munich and black malt. It is light bodied and floral yet with a distinct dark malt flavor.

Lagavulin 16-Year: (Islay) The peat level is very high, but it doesn't cancel out every other flavor. I was able to enjoy some sweet and briny flavors mixed in, and that makes me happy. It's also incredibly smooth, as a sixteen-year-old scotch should be. It's not as good as the more complex Caol Ila 12-Year, but it's worth an occasional glass. $80.
