Smooth Ambler, in Maxwelton, WV, puts out a really nice bourbon, reviewed here on Bourbon and Banter. I’m a big Smooth Ambler fan. But I ran across another West Virginia bourbon at my local liquor store. Isaiah Morgan, “West Virginia’s only Made and Produced Bourbon Whiskey,” according to the distiller’s website, www.kirkwood-wine.com .
We’ve got a “high” rye rye) for those of you who prefer your whiskey with a bit of a kick! Not to fear though because we use a very particular strain of rye known for having the presence of a vanilla note to soften the blow.
