Wildlands Conservancy naturalists believe they have discovered the largest oak in North America. The oak's trunk is feet in circumference and is located in a meadow surrounded by steep slopes in the Oak Glen area of the San Bernardino Mountains.
This is the Angel Oak Tree, in Charlston, an enormous live oak tree named after it's previous owners Martha and Justin Angel. The tree is thought to be over 1500 years old. The Angel Oak is 65 feet tall and over 25 feet around the trunk.
