Arizona Pronghorn Antelope -- We have pronghorns here in Nebraska, too. They look as if they belong in Africa. Glad I'll still be able to see them in Arizona
Wildlife Image of the Week for the week ending September 28th, 2012: D. Robert Franz - Close-up pronghorn

Mexican pronghorn (Antilocapra americana mexicana) is a pronghorn native to Mexico and the United States.
Pronghorns are built for speed. Everything about them is geared towards moving fast over long distances. They are the fastest animal on the planet for a sustained top speed. I think they’re my favorite North American animal, at least on hooves. I can spend all day watching them. I only wish they didn’t live so darned far from me.This male was just outside the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park, in Gardiner, Montana. by eaross
