As it is one of the most popular Japanese sweets around the area, it is almost like a cliche to visit here after the shrine and the restaurants to have the famous roasted sparrows and quails. The "mame daifuku" in Futaba is as tender as the marshmallows.

There was a street-food restaurant in Kyoto (near the Fushimi-Inari Shrine) which, when you looked up on the ceiling to notice them, hosted more than 3 Swallow nests. I was really impressed while this was a completely normal thing for the locals, beautiful. Visit my website: www.fieelstuff.com.
