There are VERY FEW photos of this, the last of the Panther variants, the "Ausf F" model with the updated Schmalturm turret and gun mantlet. None were known to be photographed during combat. This is a Ausf G chassis with the protype turret installed.
A shattered Sherman tank of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers. It was hit by alternating armour-piercing (AP) and high-explosive (HE) shells. The turret of the tank was blown straight up and off the body. Its Canadian crew never knew what hit them.
