The Ed Sullivan Show is an American TV variety show that ran on CBS from Sunday June to Sunday June and was hosted by New York entertainment columnist Ed Sullivan. It was replaced in September 1971 by the CBS Sunday Night Movie, a single season failure.

Ed Sullivan was the show to watch.  The Beatles were on and also Elvis Presley shaking his leg and they could only show him from the waist up.

The whole family sat around the black & white television and watched history when the Beatles performed on the Ed Sullivan show! (I remember watching the first time they were on Ed Sullivan.
