The giant Cunard White Star liner 'Queen Mary' in her fitting-out basin at Clydebank, Glasgow, where she is nearing completion. The ship was known as '534' in John Brown's shipyards but was christened 'Queen Mary' in 1936. The British government eventually loaned Cunard the money to complete the project and 400 dockers were serenaded back to work.
