It’s a nearly 30-hour trip by train from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The sleeping cars are small and cramped. When the “toilet” flushes you can see the ground whizzing by below. Along the way are hours of beautiful nothingness and awe-inspiring sunsets and clouds.
