A Yoruba Epa Mask. Nigeria, mid 20th century. A large and impressively carved superstructure ceremonial helmet mask with a tall imposing figure surmounting the janiform human helmet. The figure atop is adorned with fez headdress, and holding a staff and sword. Elaborately painted polychrome surface. 43-1/2” H.
