Margarita de Bonampak portrays a young Mexican woman whose direct downward gaze is obscured, making her face seem mask-like and inanimate. The angle of the shot emphasizes the body beneath which is denied to the viewer, the only hint of her sexuality revealed by the flow of her hair over the adolescent breast.

Famous Artists Photographed With Their Cats

Famous artist Henri Matisse relaxing outdoors, cuddling his beloved cat. Artists seem to have a tendency to be real "animal people".

Henri Matisse, France. Why I respect him so much - even sick in bed he never stopped producing art!

Salvador Dali walking his pet anteater

Just Salvador Dali walking his pet anteater. (1969, Paris)

Salvador Dali Taking His Anteater for a Walk. This is amazing. He even lived his life in a surreal manner. Who owns an anteater as a pet? Apparently Savaldor Dali, that's who.

Awesome portrait of Frida and a tiny monkey...lol

Awesome portrait of Frida and a tiny monkey.lol his name is Fulang Chang, he was her pet.

Monsieur & Madame Monet. My favourite artist after da Vinci. Birds totally freak me out so this picture is quite unsettling. It reminds me of the man who feeds the pigeons at the end of the tram tracks on Elizabeth St in Melbourne, Australia. As soon as he appears there, the sky literally goes black momentarily with all the pigeons who come to be fed by him.
