I got this stollen recipe while I was Head Baker at the Dorchester. It's packed with dried fruit and filled with a marzipan surprise. It makes a perfect food gift at Christmas.

This Stollen recipe is the traditional German sweet-yeasted fruit bread, which is particularly wonderful at Christmas. Serve thickly sliced for breakfast, brunch or with a cup of tea.

Because we already ate the last of the stollen from Trader Joe's.

I will make this with Christmas cake left overs next year!

  • 50 g Glace cherries, red
  • 50 g Sultanas
  • 1 Egg, large
Baking & Spices
  • 2 tsp Active baking yeast, dried
  • 350 g Bread flour
  • 75 g Caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon, ground
  • 1 heaped tsp Icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
Nuts & Seeds
