The Borrowers...loved this book when I was a girl. I must have read it a hundred times. I still collect miniatures because of this book.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. A beloved classic and one of my favorites as a kid. The page with all of the food always made me hungry ;)
Mo Williams continues to amaze. How can one author have so many terrrific ideas? Act this one out with a suave voice for the fox, and high silly voices for the ducks. Kids (and maybe grownups) will join right in.
The Holy Twins is a great complement to a unit on Jacob and Esau.
Jaspers Day, by Marjorie Blain Parker; Jasper’s cancer has progressed and it is time to have him put down. The family celebrates Jasper’s Day, doing all his favourite things before Dad takes him to the vet. After the vet, Dad brings him home and they bury him in the backyard. It is described as the hardest day of the young boy’s life. A sensitive treatment of ending a beloved pet’s life.
