Mameshibori Goshiki. ‘Mameshibori’ refers to the black scalation pattern style on the Koi. The term ‘Mameshibori’ is also used in relation to very old style Goshiki, this example is completely different. This particular Koi first appeared on the show scene 2010 at the All Japan Combined Nishikigoi Show where it took the Best in Variety prize. (left picture above) The Koi was bred by Hiroi Koi Farm and they suggest this is perhaps the ultimate ‘style’ for Goshiki for them.
