勝奈 Documenting a high rise

On the day of her maiko debut, Katsuna-san wore her ceremonial black Kimono and stepped out of her okiya only to realize it had been tied the wrong way. The left side of her hiki was crossed over the right, something only reserved for the deceased. While this unlucky detail of her misedashi seemed to promise bad luck, Katsuna of Daimonji has had nothing short of a successfull maiko-career. She is a gifted dancer and a stunning and gracefull personality. Yet her heart beats for making music!
