Heartswell Tangle PATTERN
Hey all, long time no "see". So much has been happening around here, but more about that later........first, onto the new pattern. I've barely picked up a pencil for over a month and once I got back to my desk this week I had a whole heap of scribbles to work my way through. I didn't get very far into it when I found a piece of paper where I had experimented with the tangle pattern Swells by Jennifer Hohensteiner - it started me thinking about how the aura-ing technique would work with the…

Build a Greenhouse From Vintage Windows
We were inspired to build this greenhouse from a pile of vintage windows that we found on my parents' property. This stack of single-paned windows ended up becoming a space for me to start and nurture my seedlings - and is now where I am growing my tomatoes and peppers this summer. This is a wonderful way to create your own growing space - or backyard escape! - using upcycled windows that are easily found in ReStores or on online classified sites. Here it is, in its finished glory! W…
My Other Home
What do you do when you need a new room to decorate? Why build another house of course! LOL! Now because my husband has a very even temperament (most of the time) he did not send me to the loony bin when I said to him one day.....do you think you could take all those old windows out back and make me a little house? Instead he very sweetly replied "why sure" (now those of you who know him know it was more sarcastic than anything) but build it he did. And he did an awesome job! So to start off…
DIY Window Greenhouse
Last night I visited my talented friend Holli from Hollyhocks&Hydrangreas & almost died from landscaping beauty. Her home is not the only beautiful thing, but all of the foliage surrounding her home is just stunning. The thought & care she puts into each plant & tree surrounding her home is a gift. There is one thing I have started to become passionate about lately it's plants. I've always loved house plants, but landscaping & gardening has peaked my interest lately & her landscaping was so…

Today in the Workshop
I spent a good part of today in my workshop. It felt good to have tools in my hands, because it has been quite a while since I had the time or the inclination to build anything. What was I working on, you ask? My friend Janet (of The Empty Nest) used salvaged windows to help decorate the walls of her new shop. She had some windows left over, and she asked me if I would use them to make a mini greenhouse for her. I delivered the greenhouse to Janet at her shop this afternoon, and she squealed…
