老松白鶏図 Loushou-Hakkei-zu (White Phoenix on Old Pine from the Colourful Realm of Living Beings) by 伊藤若冲 (Ito Jakuchu),

With protruding horns and barbells and large round eyes staring to its left, the dragon in the monochrome shades of ink looked humorous in spite of its majestic figure. The dragon is called ”Un-ryu(雲龍), a flying dragon in clouds”. It looked stylish as well. It was originally painted in the 16th century by Kaihō Yūshō(海北友松 1533-1615 ) on the four fusumas (sliding partitions), in the Kenninji-temple(建仁寺) in Kyoto. You can see the whole painting here. Un-ryu(雲龍, a flying dragon in clouds). It was originally painted in the century by Kaihō Yūshō(海北友松 ) on the four fusuma in the Kenninji-temple in Kyoto.
