Tadanori Yokoo, 1936

Born in Nishiwaki, Japan. He entered the profession by replicating paints and designing store wrapping paper. In the 1970´s after a traffic accident and the suicide of a close friend he became fascinated by India culture, Buddhism, UFOs and began to create collages using images of the Universe and religious symbols. Other motifs recur in his work like waterfalls. He is also known for his science-fiction posters and Ken Takakura gangster-film posters.
