title: Photographer who Lost His Eyesight        視力を失った写真家 His pupils remain dilated, and accordingly his eyes cannot focus. When I peered into his eyes, deep darkness opened up. The eye muscles which control the lenses were injured during eye surgery. Subsequently, his eyes are no longer able to adjust the pupils to focus. He retains his sight only in the upper right corner of his right eye.

title :  A Sharp Woman     切れる女    In the history of mankind, this may be the era with greatest progress in women’s social advancement and status improvement, ever since the origin of a male dominant society. In this man’s world, while awareness of women’s ability increases daily, the contradiction exists that most of such evaluations are made by men. Women observe the systems and standards established by men, and elevate their status within the set criteria.

title :  A Rabbit Holding Flower   花を持つ兎  While rabbits in Japanese folk tales are typically wicked and cunning liars, this work depicts the delightful, gentle representation of rabbits.   In the world of the Tea Ceremony, utensils and images with rabbit motifs are often used, so this sculpture was produced to be used for tea ceremonies.  A vase that can be inserted into the rabbitユs chest for holding flowers adds a whimsical touch.

title:Rain in the Jungle  密林の雨    This is an art piece I created based on the percussionist, Yas-Kaz Sato, who I hold in high esteem.    When I listen to his music, I imagine myself roaming in a tropical jungle. In a wet jungle, enveloped in misty rain, I am dripping wet. The image is derived from the sounds he creates, along with the folk instruments he plays from all over the world, such as Bali, Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Africa and Northern Europe.
