An ancient Daunia funnel krater. From the Apulia region of Italy. Dates to circa the 4th Century B.C. Large globular body with a funnel-shaped mouth and stylized animal heads on the shoulders between the vertical handles. Has a rich red, black and brown paint, with geometric ornaments on a creamy white ground. Intact said for repair on rim. Measures 10inches wide x 9inches high.
