A cable style of power insulator known as the "Columbia" design insulator which were produced from c1891-1910's time period. This style became popular for use on the street railways, trolley lines, and interurban lines where a heavy direct current (DC) feeder cable was used. A very unique cable insulator nickname the "Straight Sides" insulator which was produced by the New England Glass Manufacturing Company in Boston, Massachusetts (1898-1900). The CD 267.5 insulators were used exclusively on the former MBTA Orange Line, an eight mile section of the elevated trolley line built about 1899-1900 in Boston.
