Having a basic understanding of numerology can help you learn and remember the meanings of card, and can provide some additional context if a number shows up multiple times in a given reading. *Some will reduce 10 to 1 + 0 = 1 instead of assigning meaning to the number 10. There is some merit to both methods; in a way, the “end of a cycle” is the chance for a new beginning afterwards. **For Major Arcana cards 11 - 21, reduce down by adding the digits. For example The Star, #17, would be reduced to 1 + 7 = 8. The Fool is generally assigned to #1 even though it’s numbered as 0. I personally associate the Fool with the Aces in the Minor Arcana, so it makes sense to group them together in numerology.
