As popular as illuminated manuscript alphabet art, the first use was in the 6th century, but it became popular in the 15th century in Europe. In that year, the illuminated alphabet was used for glorifying the era of literacy, devotion in spiritual, and a mere cultural use.

Recently in my attempts to get myself to do art post-graduation I have been working on an Illuminted Letters Alphabet. Originally I was just going to make one 'A' but then I got caught up in it, so now I'm moving on to the whole alphabet. Each letter is inspired by an obscure or unusual word. I had my March post all ready to publish on March 1st but life got ahead of me. Here were are on the 22nd day of the month and I am still hoping for Spring. I see signs of life in my garden.
