Nemuri (Explored)

This pathway through a bamboo grove really reminds me of a scene out of an old samurai movie. It just has that feel. Hence, I titled the photo "Nemuri" after the ronin film character Nemuri Kyoshiro- immortalized by the late star Ichikawa Raizo. This photo was taken on the grounds of Kencho-ji Temple in Kamakura.

Yabusame - 15

The Kamakura Yabusame festival is probably Japan's most impressive demonstration of horse back Japanese archery. It takes place every year mid April in the Kamakura Hachiman shrine. I was lucky enough to locate some good ventage point amidst the huge crowd. This image was captured with a D800 and 300mm f2.8 AF-S VR.

A Rare Snow in Kamakura

Enkakuji (円覚寺) in Kamakura is a pretty cool temple. This is not one of the highlights of this temple, but it looked the coolest under a thin blanket of snow. That's about all I have to say about this shot.
