Kuromame (Sweet Black Soybeans) | JustOneCookbook.com.  I can't always find black soybeans so I use regular black beans, I add cut up 1/4 inch squares of kelp (kobu) and chestnuts to make the kuromame that is traditional to serve at new years day breakfast.
