A big part of tapping is visualising arpeggios horizontally. These are unplayable with just the fretting hand so we add a tap with the picking hand at the 12th fret. Here’s a great triplet lick to get you started. Notice how a ’T’ is used to denote a tapped note with the picking hand. P is the pull off (or ‘flick off’) and H is hammer on.
