New Zealand Maori Tribal Fern. Love the 'concept', not so much the design or placement though. I want to get something like this done, but more delicate and as part of an arm-band on my right arm (one feather and one fern hanging down off a simple Celtic band with my tribes' actual patterns on one half of each. There will be other symbols on there from other cultures too. This entire band will signify the warrior spirit from the tribes/cultures that make up my ancestry (nine in total!!).
Maori carvings of New Zealand Kahuroa Kahungunu: Kahungunu was the ancestor of the Māori tribe Ngāti Kahungunu, and is seen here holding a hoe and a canoe paddle. This shows his abilities as a navigator. The carving is part of the canoe house on Treaty grounds, Waitangi.
