I need to do more fashion posts, because, well, fashion. I’ll start with the fundamentals, that is, the foundation garments. How is a super-fashionable lady of 1829 to achieve a silhouette as fab as this? Let’s see the underneath: Aha! So, the ca. 1830 silhouette is a strong hourglass shape, with huge “gigot” (mutton chop) sleeves, a tiny waist, and a wide, almost bell-shaped skirt (with slightly more poof in the back than in the front).
