The Brewer Family Blog: Countertop Awesomness

Brewer Family Blog

I finished my countertop today! I am so pleased with how it came out and I can't wait to do the rest of my kitchen after we finish painting the walls! It was so incredibly easy and can be done by anyone able to use a can of spray paint! First and foremost, you'll have to excuse the lousy pictures. I was carrying enough back and forth to the house and started this project on a whim, so cell phone pictures are all I have to document the process. Now I had been looking for ways to replace or…

Refinished bathroom sink countertop using stone spray paint! It was an UGLY yellow (sorry, I forgot to take before pic). 1. Lightly hand sanded to take shine off, 2. Painted base color (lighter brown than stone spray), 3. Sprayed two light layers of rustoleum stone spray, 4. Three coats of glossy polyurethane. The hardest part was waiting for each layer to dry. Finished it in one day (minus the faucet put back in... Still waiting on that). :-)

How to Spray Paint Countertops

This is my #1 most popular post of all time! Everyone wants to know How to Spray Paint Countertops! This is what the countertops looked like before: I completely taped and tarped the…

Rocky Bella: Countertop Fix, Part:2

Countertop Fix, Part:2

My kitchen counter tops are in a transitional stage. I plan to replace them one day soon with some tile or maybe even granite. I would like to tile the kitchen floor before we get to that project though. So to hold me over, I've taken on a little "ghetto fabulous" kitchen counter re-do. I shared with you how I did a test run with my little section of counter, in this post. I decided it was high time to get the rest of it finished. When I went back to the store where I originally bought the…
