A grandmother’s trove of Civil War photos goes to Library of Congress

For 40 years, a Houston woman has gathered hundreds of so-called stereo photos of war and slavery.

While half of the story takes place at the plantations, the rest of the story takes place at a historical slave auction. In fact, Pierce Butler held the largest slave auction in American History. During the auction it poured and poured and would not stop pouring rain, many think it was God crying. This is another reason that the story was named "Day of Tears"
